View Full Version : PSU1 VR voltage regulators for my DAC?
need some voltage regulators for my Monica DAC from www.diyparadise.com
But i want to know what the maximum output voltage for these are. know jan wrote 15 volt, but?... need like 20 to 24 volts...
Hi, you can series connect these...
Take one double board, a dual output tranny of 22Vac and you're good to go! :)
Mind the max. current though...
------X-max. can be several meters on any driver, too bad it can be done only once...------
Hi,
the caps are rated at least 35 V and above. The LM317 handles up to 40 V.
20 - 24 V are no problems. The PSU1-VR will handle that '[8D]'

Hi B, good to know! Thanks for the response. :)
Maybe Jan should change the data then...

Okay, i did a little research earlier today abaout the dac, found out that the gain stage on it should sound better with 40 volts on it! so i might try 30 volts or something, or try to change the cap and go for 40 volts. but how high is the current rating for these regulators. it is sait the dac gets a little hot @ 40 volts so it may draw some current..
By the way, USB monica is a great DAC! :)
Thanks for reply!
Or just connect them in series! Hehe! but any idea abaout max current?

Very yes indeed! because those looks great not just for 41Hz stuff!
But we was talking abaout a 24volt car booster in amp 9 forum, do you have any updates abaout the DIY 24Volt booster kit beeing released?
Sorry for many posts!
They ARE great!
Better than they are advertised for!
The 12V-24V booster, well I'm working on a DC-DC converter myself right now. Getting help from a few guys so I hope it works out. Maybe Jan can use the design, I don't know if he is spending time on something like that or other designs right now. I know it is one of the things people ask for a lot of times, but some parts are not easy to buy ready made, and it should be easy enough to build for a wide range of diyers if Jan is ever going to make a kit out of some design it should be 1000% feasible to build for the average diyer. And not dangerous.
All this takes a lot of time...
Just keep an eye open and perhaps it's here sooner than you think, but promises can't be made....
