Maybe I get my hands on a lab DC aggregate. It has no eart, just +/- terminals. Will it do?

What DC voltage should I use for testing the amp?

I normally start at 37Vdc...

------X-max. can be several meters on any driver, too bad it can be done only once...------

It is a 30V, 2.5 A. I guess it is too low.

It would be ok with other voltage limiting resistors...

Instead of the usual 1,18M, 422K(x2) and 392K you should then use something like 560K, 200K(x2) and 180K (I've tried this and then the amp will work from roughly 24V to 38V....

It's just for testing purposes, including the voltage limiting resistors.

Will http://www.elfaelektroonika.ee/cgi-bin/web_store.cgi?artnr=69-847-61&lng=eng do?

Nope, it's too light... just 2x30Vdc...

Nicest would be something 2x60Vdc or at least 2x45Vdc...

I've bought this 2x60Vdc specimen recently:

(picture shows the single one too, you only get the large box..)

It's a bit noisy, but good enough for testing. It's got a 5V output as well, nice for AMP2/7 or Truepath...
