I received my kit today and have just begun looking at the PS3.
In the assembly instructions I found the following sequence; "A small heat sink is included for the transistor." but no such heat sink is included in the BOM or in the kit I received.
I the assembly instructions I also found the following sequence; "The rectifiers are mounted with the heat sink tab towards the PCB. Use the supplied insulators and bushings for the screws. Ensure the metal surfaces of the diodes are not in contact with the PCB ground plane."
In the BOM and in the kit is only included one insulator and one bushing.
Could the one insulator be for the missing heat sink for the transistor?
Looking at the PCB I find no ground plane under the rectifiers. Under one of the rectifiers there is a line for ground and under the other is a line for the positive voltage and it seems as though the holes for mounting the rectifiers are not connected to anything else on the PCB.
Should I expect that a heat sink is necessary for the transistor when the PS3 is supplied with 36VAC and is driving one AMP11-HV?
Is it right to expect that there is an error in the BOM and in the kit because of the missing insulation and bushings for the rectifiers? If yes there two screws to mount the rectifiers to the PCB are also missing from the BOM and kit.
Any opinions on this?
Regards
