Hi,

I've been reading all the fuse-related posts but can't quite get a conclusive answer as to what is a good rating to use.

I am using a 230V -> 20-0-20-0 transformer with a rating of 200VA. On the primary side I am on 230VAC.

Before I "waste" some fuses unnecessarily can someone advise what's a good fuse rating on the primary side? Will a 2A do? Or should I use 4A?

Thanks in advance!

Regards

I'm not an expert at all, but considering my actual experience, I can advise you some things.

I have tested with 250 to 730 mA and all the fuses blew at start (I have a 300 VA, 2x21 V). With 2A, no problem. I suggest you to begin with 300 mA, and gradually augment. For example 300, 600, 900, etc...

I would not recommend to start with 2A directly or a high value. Try to find the good one.
