    AMP8 revamped

    I currently have two AMP8 under testing on my workbench. They have been revamped with new power MOSFETs that really allow this amp to be used to it's full potential. This is an amp in the 2x1000W+ class, with an upper limit, to be determined.

    For those not familiar with this model, it is a high power amp with doubled output transistors allowing very high currents. The problem has been to find suitable power MOSFETs that can be driven by the Tripath TP2350 chip, without too much load on the chip. With these new transistors, the chip runs nice and warm but not hot, even without any heatsink!

    Stay tuned. When you hear the thunder, then it could be the AMP8 is up and running.

    PS5-B

    A power supply kit for 2x300W class amps like AMP2, AMP7, and Truepath. The PS5-A is based around two high quality 27.000uF 63V caps, 4x16Amp diodes with full snubbering. The "B" version of PS5 has space for two small stamp sized SMPS that are suitable as preregulators for 5V and for 10V MOSFET drivers as required by AMP7, Truepath etc. PS5 also has loudspeaker relays integrated on the board. As with most our amp kits and power supply kits, the PCB has 70um copper layers, compared to the standard 35um used on many other boards. The boards have a nice black finish. On request the PS5B acn be supplied with 15000uF 80V capacitors.

    AMP15-PS-XP
    High power version of AMP15-PS. Power and precision, very low distortion and extremely low noise. The XP has more than 3X higher current capability than the previous AMP15-PS and is therefore capable of delivering a massive 2x300W into 4ohm speakers.

    PS5-A

    Among the 25 is the Tripath TA2020 which is used in our AMP6 , AMP6-Basic and AMP6-Basic-SNEAKY

    We are very glad that Tripath is listed in this all-time IC-list. We are also very honored that 41Hz Audio is mentioned in such a context, even if in a subsentence only.
