I don't have much good but here's my opinion, hope it helps somewhat: I'd get something readymade. You'll need the mic, a mic preamp, and a buffer/mixer circuit.

ha! that's pretty cool!
I've been able to build most of the 41Hz amps with a shitty 50W iron. Having a cheap 90W slugger on hand to do the very biggest joints was nice, but not even necessary.
:) good luck!
P.s. - Surface mount is quite easy if you have a reasonably good iron (doesn't need to be super fancy), and some liquid flux. Then there's a couple of simple tricks to get the hang...
BBM means "break before make". It's an interval measured in nanoseconds. As I understand it, the BBM spec defines how long a time passes between one output transistor being turned off and the other...
High five!
Yep! Yes, 24V, not 2*12V :)
You can use a generic SMPS. I've tried various random supplies with 41Hz amps. Has always worked pretty well. 120W should be fine :)
I'd take the PS5 I think. Cheaper and has speaker-side relays, which are nice to have. Can't see any difference that I'd consider as different :) I'd say the PS5 was simply a newer design and more...
Market opportunity. In this sense, the Amp9 isn't a consumer product - it's a component to be refined further.
... and no, you need some components that aren't available here :) Stuff like switches, connectors, cases, power supplies such as a transformer or switchmode supply or indeed batteries ...
Running the Amp7 on 12V isn't all that great. You would need at least four batteries because the Amp7 is dual-rail and the absolute bare minimum to even get it running is 18V per rail - and it...
Wow, great info gben-chalice! I really appreciate it.
And yes, gnome, that is a wicked cool speaker - what's in it and what is it used for?
It does make sense to me - Let's say we connect a 1Ah battery and a 2Ah battery in series. We take 1 Ampere out of it for 1 hour. Now one battery is empty, but the other still has a charge. If we...
A high five is in order, I believe!
That is really good to hear.
A shot in the dark: Multiple tubes?
I wish I could offer more, but here's what I have: If you change the bass reflex tube width, then the length changes, and you can probably make it fit.
Heh!! I want one. I hope they got earplugs for the animal though.
Nope! Everything included. I think the price of CNC stuff just varies greatly. This shop doesn't specialize in high-precision - the holes were just a little bit fuzzy, but it was still very good.
Hehe, I built an amplifier chassis - two cases, one for a largish transformer, and the other for an Amp15. This is the amp section: http://i.imgur.com/LPoUZ.jpg ... don't have a pic of the...
Less than you'd think :) ... but yeah, there are cheaper ways.
It's quite soft and easy to work with. Drilling is easy - you can use almost any type of bit and it'll make a hole!
Usually, the suppliers of aluminium stock have cutting and bending machines....
I can recommend V-Bro's amps - I got an Amp4 from him, and I can tell you it's done right.
Nah, don't cut. I'm no expert at this, just trying to figure out if the broken one is effectively "stuck in mute", you know? The 50mA figure seems like the figure they're supposed to draw muted....
Hmmmm. On the working one, is it 110mA when unmuted and silent? If so, then how is muted current draw?
