I read a bit of this review: http://www.iar-80.com/page142.html
  2. started: hot rectifier when I try first 5V test

Unfortunately I get about 800mV from Q10 to GND. The rectifier gets very hot too.
I connected a wallwart 20-24VDC supply to AC1 and GND. Can someone guess what could be wrong?

    I already...

Thank you, but I think I'll manage to remove it with a solder pump - I achieved simialr errors while building a PIMETA. :)

  9. could I add this ESP circuit (project 57 - "clipping indicator")

    Hi,

do you think I could add this to have a universial clipping indicator (if physically possible)?

If yes, could you point me to where I should hook up the circuit?

It's a coincidence, though I wrongly wrote subwoofer while they're actually woofers.

Can I use different input capacitors for the channels on one Amp4?

    stereo amp: 8Ohm + 4 Ohm speaker

Would it be bad to put an 8 Ohm speaker on one channel and a 4 Ohm speaker on the other channel of the same amp (provided the amp can handle both loads of course)?

I found these here, is the 10mm lead spacing is OK? I'd put one on each side if possible and use an extra heatsink for the IC.
