Actually, I can fit 6x8. Yes, oval speakers. Or seems that 5 1/4 (130mm) round speakers can fit also. But my woofers in doors bigger then that. Well. Will see. I made some holes in my project box - will see how it cools..

I have managed to get pretty good results with this driver as sub:
Monacor SPH-135TC... I used two of them with the coils in parallel to make them 4ohms each...

------X-max. can be several meters on any driver, too bad it can be done only once...------
Looks interesting. I will need to see how much space exactly I got. It could be the case that I can't mount speakers that deep.
Also, is it crucial for bass to have enclosure? I afraid I can't make it enclosed in where my speakers will be mount. It's behind doors on A-pillars.
Yes, they're deep, that's a problem in doors most of the time...and yes bass needs a very stable and well sealed enclosure, but this count mainly for the baffle, the sides or behind of the enclosure can be leak as a basket. As long as the baffle is large and stable enough...
What are A-pillars?

It's a spot between door window and rear window.
Then it's B pillar : http://tinylink.com/?yrJNhGmflPquote:Originally posted by katit

Mr T
Actually, it's C pillar![]()
I see, well maybe you can make an adapter to be able to give more depth, make it a baffle from steady material like plywood... 18mm thickness creates 18mm more 'depth'...
I took out the original boothcover (or whatever you call it) and made one of wood, put four 12" in it and covered them with perf metalsheet, covered the whole with thick black stretch cloth... you don't see them, but they're pretty audibleMy whole booth is the cabinet and with such force it doesn't matter much if it leaks, it makes it a sort of hybrid between a closed box and an open baffle
it sure sounds very neutral, clean, tight, dry or whatever pretty names I should give it....
When I sell my car I can place the original boothcover back in place and use the 12" drivers again....no damage....

I will definitely look more into that. But I will need something to fill car with sound.
Today I was in and out between my other car and in fact I take my words back. It sounds fine.
2 problems:
1. Distortions at high volume which is probably due to weak input. Still didn't try booster yet.
2. Loudness of my car. Will partially fix by adding rear stage with bass and I think I will do some kind of soundproofing eventually.
Im not sure if you are looking to get a sub but one i have been playing with is the tang band w8-740p http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=264-854 It is cheap and sounds great in my jeep wrangler. One sub is enough for me. I have it in a .4 cubic foot sealed box and it runs great off as little as 100 watts. Tang band also has a 6.5 sub that supposedly sounds great also. I plan to pick one of these up sometime soon to play around with
