quote:Tang band also has a 6.5 sub that supposedly sounds great also.
They have 5 1/4 as well At 70W RMS they may be what I need.

Prices looking very good. I may avtually try one/two of those. Still didn't have time to look what I have at rear speakers mounting location.

If I do fiberglass for enclosure, does it make difference how it shaped? Or it's only volume that matters?

Please let me know if you do buy one of their smaller subs and if you like it. I am really tempted to give some of their smaller offerings a go.

Lookin' good! Shape of te enclosure does matter, but asymmetric shapes tend to perform better....

Avoid too narrow shapes (like one inch) and parallel surfaces with no stuffing inbetween. Never put stuffing behind the baffle, only behind the driver...(in a standard box you cover the rear and side panels inside the enclosure with stuffing....) And.. don't overdo it with the stuffing, although really small enclosures can be acoustically enlarged by an overdose of stuffing, but it would have been better to have larger content with less stuffing....

------X-max. can be several meters on any driver, too bad it can be done only once...------

Oh and try to fixate the stuffing to the enclosure (glue or tape...) it makes it a lot more effective...

Small delay in audio progress (more mechanical problems came up )
Anyway. I tried to connect phones output from my "boombox" to AMP9 and BOOM! I mean sound was good. I got noticeable hum on speakers at lowest volume and it was very definite that speakers can't handle what I was giving to them. So I'm off to find different more powerful/loud speakers.
