    Default New AMP4

    New models coming soon:

    AMP4, 2x50W 8 ohms, integrated power supply
    =======================================
    - Based on the Tripath TK2050 that runs of a single 20V to 35V supply. Could run of 24V system / two 12V batteries.
    - The TK2050 chipset is a two pieces; the Tripath TA2001 signal processor chip and the TP2050 power chip. The TA2001 signal processing chip is the same processor as used in AMP2. The power chip, the TP2050 chip has the same footprint as the TA2021B chip used in AMP3.
    - The datasheet THD+N values are exceptionally low, 0.007% at 30W, 8 ohm. This should be a Gem!
    - AMP4 has an onboard power supply rectifier two 10.00 uF capacitors and a well stabilized +5V supply. Just add a transformer of 15 to 24V AC.
    - AMP4 is optimized for 6 and 8 ohm loads. Due to the internal maximum current limiting at 5.5A, with four ohms it should be used at limited supply voltages (20-25V? to be tested).
    - Many components for AMP4 are surface mounts. The footprint of the board is 50x120 mm.

AMP4 will be available in august/september.
If you havn't built it you do not really own it

    It sounds very promising Jan.

Can you include an option for the parallel output config that will support 4 ohm loads better? I will require dual boards for a stereo amp, but I think it will be worth it in my case.

    Hi,

Dual output chips would be required for high power into 4 ohms, but not for 8 ohms. Dual, parallelled output drivers would require a slightly bigger power supply section, and of course a larger board. I have had in mind doing this, but one step at a time. If people keep asking, it will happen....

    hI,

I'm new in this forum and i'm planning to build a integrated stereo (dual mono)amp with this promissing chipset.

I'd like to feed this "gem" with batteries. Would this be possible without mods? Is this chip mono or stereo? What would be the price? May i be advise (by email) when available?

    Regards

    Hi,

This amp should work well with voltages from about 20 to 35V, for example a 24V battery. The bulk capacitors for the power supp are rated 35V working voltage. Yes the amp is two channel / stereo.

Send me an email and I will notify you when AMP4 is available.

I would also like the parallel version as an option. Is it a problem to use hardwired extra power supply capacitors placed close to the board? Also, I'm not happy with 10.000uF capacitors of only 35V rating. I would like at least 50V versions with lower ESR and higher speed.

What is the pricing and expected availability for Amp4 and Amp5 ?

    Thanks Jack

I also want to know when this is going to start shipping. As well as what price it will have. Will it support a digital volume chip like the AMP5?

    Thanks
    /Magnus
