If you use a balanced input it will give you a bridged output.![]()
Sorry, i don't understand.
i am a newbie DIYer.
i can found that it can bridge to mono from PDF.
but...is it support XLR input ?
What Sean is saying is that you build two amps. To each amp you input the Hot wire of your balanced (XLR) source to channel 1, the Cold wire to channel 2, third wire to grounds.
On output of each amp you connect the "+" of CH1 to speaker "+" and "+" of CH2 (that is the negative image of CH1) to speaker "-".
My question to Sean is the following. Tripath states on datasheets that the 2 output channels are not synchronized: will this method result in balanced operation if the outputs are not in (opposite) phase?
Sorry Thomas, I don't fully understand the wording of your question.[:I]
The switching frequency of the outputs are not syncronized, but this has no effect on the phase of the outputs.
Not sure if that if that answers your question, but I have used the AMP1 with a balanced input and it indeed works.
Thanks, this is the answer I asked for.quote:Originally posted by Sean

Thanks guy,
I am starting to understand.
I think i need two of them.
Yes, if you want to use a balanced source you will need two kits for stereo.
