The price vs quality of 41Hz boards makes it possible to have 4 or even 6 channels of high quality amplification.
It's a shame that there isn't an active Xover board yet, to take advantage of this.

yes i miss a active xover board to.iv been lokking for it for a long time know, and it should be easy to build ,but a im a newbee so a kit would be nice
If you want a decent crossover at a reasonable price go to Ebay and surf up Rane AC22 or AC23 (balanced and unbalanced variants).
They usually go for 50-100GBP approx but the latest model which is nearly identical sells for 400GBP approx.
You can upgrade then too ! (better diodes and power caps, op amps etc).
But somehow I feel a simple 2Ch Xover would be better, the Rane is good but has too many features and is too complicated.
Marchand http://www.marchandelec.com/ look delicious but the price !
This guy makes a very nice active crossover board. Fairly cheap:

Two two-way crossovers can be cascaded for a three way.
About $100us for 4 boards and another $30-$50 or so for parts....

Just another beautiful day in paradise.
ready built active crossovers are not that expensive, unlike amps.
The Rane Ac23 or Ac22 has the very useful feature of "delay", means, that the setup will be much better for a determined speaker having the drivers in different positions at the horizontal plane. I bought one AC23 and I'll do soon some tests. I'll let you know how will go. =)
There is also the Behringer Ultradrive Pro DCX2496, which also includes a pretty nice DAC, as I have been told, and can be had on eBay for below 200 EUR. It has six mono outs.
Bye, Andreas
Rane is soooo '07
I now have a DCX2496.
You're right, it is pretty good from the box. But us 41Hzers like to get our mucky little hands dirty.
The DCX2496 has many upgrade paths if you surf around it - Selectronics normally comes highest, but if you have one, I'd recommend the Pilgham Audio site.
The 6 channel, active, remote control, output board is worthy of note and sounds even better with Burson Audio opamps.
The problem is I now have 6 channels available and only 2 Trupaths. Hmmmm. Wonder what might happen next.
So, Isomebloke, what did happen? An extra TruePath? Or something else?
