Hi,
I'm planning to use 2 AMP2 Boards in my new amp-project. The amp is supposed to be connected to two independant 21" woofers, with a powerrating of 1000W@8Ohms each. So I want to use them in BTL-configuration. As this amp has to be cheap (of course), I want to use a from another, dead, Class-AB amp.
However this transformer has 2 secondaries, delivering 120V each (after rectifing and buffering).
Now, how to use this transformer? The only way I can think of is to manage somehow without the normaly needed positive and negative supply voltage and use the +120V as single power supply instead.
What modifications do I need? The only problem I see is that the MOSFET driver in the chipset needs a neutral reference. I could do that easily by creating a suitable voltage divider. However I am not sure, if there is any load on this voltage divider.. If so, I would have to create some kind of circiut where I can put some load on the neutral reference.
Any suggestions?
