I cant see the diagram or pic you have just posted V-bro. Im going to use my repaired amp9 (when it arrives) to run 2 speakers and a sub. Ive built and active sub filter and wish to use 2 channels of the amp9 to amplify the signel from it.
Could you post a diagram that details the soldered conections you speak of.

Can you see the diagram if you open this link?

I can't believe I have not seen this thread until now, great work, amazing how you managed to get all that in such a small box! [8D]

    The schematic of the input-section:
Do you have any more information on how this circuit works? Would it be possible to use a similar type of circuit to produce 24db/oct slopes at 2.7Khz for example?

I was hoping to use a single amp6 to bi-amp a 2 way speaker, and a circuit like this looks ideal.

It is not advised to have such slopes with this circuit because the insertion loss becomes unbearable, but the XM-46 from Marchand pulls it off and is available as a kit. Anima here on the forum has bought these recently, don't know if he tried them yet...

What is also possible to have a 12db slope from this filter and add another 12db slope speaker filter to add up to 24db/oct...

------X-max. can be several meters on any driver, too bad it can be done only once...------

I admit, this is the first time I've come across a line-level passive filter, I'm only familiar with op-amp or digital based filters and it does seem every system has it's own upside and downside... The XM-46 does look like a nice filter tho, I've read a bit of feedback and people seem like it.

That does sound like another option to consider, the speakers aren't very powerful so crossover components should be easy enough to obtain.

Right now I'm trying to decide which sort of crossover to go for...

These speakers are active studio monitors, and they did originally come bi-amped with an op-amp based crossover, but they used LM3886 chips with very little heatsinks, so one of the amps eventually failed.

Right now, I'm using a DXC2496 digital XO, and one amp6 basic is powering each speaker, and despite the stock output stage of the DCX2496, it does sound quite nice. I'm tempted to try upgrading my DXC2496 with line-level trafo's to replace the op-amps, it's a known mod and would solve all my crossover woes, but I do think it would be nice to have the crossover within the speaker along with the amps, but the digital system is nice as I can experiment with XO slopes and XO points... Sorry for going off topic, but sometimes there's more than one way to skin a cat, and it's hard to decide which route to take!

I think I'm gonna go read up about DCX2496 mods...
