    Default Truepath problems

    Dear members of the formum.

I'm sorry to bother you with questions about the truepath amp, but I'm stuck. I have limited capacity to understand why this amp doesn't work, however, when first powered up there were no fireworks. So that is perhaps a good sign. I need some advise what to do ?

As I see it I have three options:
    a) continue to search for the fault with help and advice from members.
    b) Simply buy a new kit and assemble it and hope for the best.
    c) Ask a formum member to assemble and test it for me, since I have all the infrastructure in place already, anyone interested is going to be payed for the job.

Anyway, here is the status, All the power voltage is OK, the mosfet's is not warm. It all started with trying to mute/unmute but nothing happend, the led was off all the time. So I plugged in the speakers and music signal and the sound was coming on and off for a few seconds with some hiss noise as well occational.

So I unplugged the speakers and signals and started some measurements, as I read about in the very excelent instruction.

    Hmute 0V
    Mute 0V
    VPP sense 5V
    VNN sense 0,5V
    VBOOT1&VBOOT2 to HO1COM&HO2COM 2,6V
Rail voltage is 53,4V plus and minus

I have the softstart, PSU1 and 5and10V kit from 41Hz.

So any ideas or comments would be highly appreciated.

Are you 100% sure the led is in the right way around?

Nope, I'm not 100% sure, does it matter for the mute/unmute function, since it appears that the amp is in unmute stage, at least when you measure the level on the mute pin.

It doesn't matter for the function for as far as I can remember straight away...

You can always connect the mute pin directly to ground to be sure, but it's better to have the auto recovery circuit working. The led polarity is with the anode towards the inputs (there's a flat end on the led side, that is what the silkscreen represents...the flat side towards the outputs...)

Ok, I'll check that later, and I will also ensure that the mute pin is at a low level. Any other ideas on what to check ?

Thanks V-bro for your excellent work with the Truepath board you supplied.
    Background
So finally I'm able to use my complete Truepath amp. It is almost 22 months since I posted here about problems with my Truepath amp. I was quite sad looking on the amp realizing that I never should be able to redo the soldering on the tiny surface mount components. During the last 22 months I have been looking to the casing with the softstart and powersupply boards, transformer including the fried Truepath bord on my working desk in the basement, sad, sad what a waiste of money this stuff will never play music. But in August I saw a post from V-bro, he was advertising "I can build boards for you, or even completed amps". Easy, I was on email button sending a request, response from him just pay me and we have a done deal. [8D]

So the board arrived like two weeks ago, i finalized the last wires in the casing and powered up. AND YES IT PLAYS WONDERFUL, V-bro you made my day - THANKS

Correction to the previous post. The Trupath project started like 22 months ago, beginning of 2008. As you read from the posts above did I get in to serious problems during Christmas last year. It is like the old Wham song "Last Christmas I gave you my Heart". So this year I will give it to V-bro and my playing Truepath amp.

    Regards Lars
