    Default Sleep mute power function.

Could someone of you geniuses please explain how this sleep mute thing works. What should be connected where and when, when to use and when not to use jumpers. And what is a switch for sleep function and a power switch?

I have the Amp6 board and assembly instructions and I’m halfway through soldering.

    Hi,

in the beginning you need no jumper setting. This means, the board is in sleep mode.
To awake the amp you have to connect Pin7 from J2 with ground (pin4, 5 or 8 ogf J2). Here it would be easy to use a switch or a jumper.

But, mainly, did you guys use a switch? Did you connect both "mute" and "sleep" options?

Thanks Pepolman. How about using a switch with 3 positions? I mean a power switch with the following positions: OFF - ON(sleep) ON(wake)?
How does it sound to you?

[br]I used a switch for the sleep function. The mute function is hard wired to the Fault pin on the Tripath chip so that if the amp overheats or you have a short circuit the amp will mute. After the amp cools down or the short circuit is removed the amp will unmute.

On my first Amp6 I place the power switch on the back of the amp and put the sleep switch on the front (sort of like some computer power supplies).

On my second amp I placed both on the front.
I truthfully can't see a reason to use the sleep switch though as it does nothing for the turn on pop and serves little purpose.
