    Default Amp-11HV Availability

Is this amp gone for good? I know the HV version driver chips are hard to come by. Does anyone have any kind of idea where to get the chip or can we say goodbye to the HV version?

I just happen to have a dual secondary 30 V transformer from an old attempt at Class D back in the late 80's that would be great for the HV version and not much of anything else ....

Depending on the VA rating, that tranny would work well with the new AMP15.

The tranny I've got is only 225VA and the Amp15 wouldn't be a good choice for what I'm needing. I'm looking to build a center channel speaker whose impedance will be around 4 ohms. The Amp11-HV would have been the only choice using that tranny and speaker combination.

The higher voltage amps would be massive over kill for a center channel speaker. So I guess I'm stuck getting another transformer to match the regular Amp11.

What voltage is your 225VA tranny ?
I think AMP11(36V) can be used with transformer up to 25VAC.

    So far I have built 4 AMP11.
2 of them with 24VDC and
the other 2, I am going to use 29VDC.
I ordered the transformer and it should come this week

Tranny is dual 30VAC so HV is the only practical option.

...or I guess I'm unwinding the transformer a few turns. AMP11-Standard on its way!

Did that several times with salvaged trannies, it works...

------X-max. can be several meters on any driver, too bad it can be done only once...------
