    Default Which speakers?

Hi, now I have finally ordered my AMP6 and I've started to think about which speakers i should use with it. What kind kind of speakers are you using, and how does it work? Do I need speakers with very high sensitivity?

I would really appreciate some help

Where is the party going to be? On a rock festival with a lot of beer or in your living room with a glass of cognac, or in the bedroom with your arm around your girlfriend?

------X-max. can be several meters on any driver, too bad it can be done only once...------

Philemon: I've got 4 Ohm 87-88dB/W speakers, and that is enough to go pretty loud with an Amp6.

With 8 Ohm, I'd go for around 90-91dB/W.

Specifically, my speakers are BIB backloaded corner horns, a really simple build, with Omnes BB 3.01 3" drivers.

Edit - here's a pic from Google Sketchup:

... they're cheap too, under EUR 100 for the pair.

I was just joking a bit there, sorry...

But some persons of the likes of Saturnus (creator of "the Boominator") use these kind of amps for max boom and best efficiency for portable use. So the question is how bad you want to play loud or is the issue merely quality? And do you have mains or want to be portable and only use batteries?

Hey ... my Boominator sounds pretty good too ...

(although that wasn't the primary design parameter)

At home I use Fostex 206's in back loaded horns, that's a pretty cheap and very effective speaker that is hard to match in sound quality as well. Cross it to a good subwoofer (I use one with 2 15" drivers in a bipolar design per side) and it's questionable if you will ever need a better system, even if you're extremely picky about sound quality.
