Amp 6 basic gain

Hi.

I have two questions

1)
I just created a bike trailer soundsystem, witch has a PA passive mixer as the audio input for the amp 6.
The problem is that the amp is distorting at low output from the mixer and i was thinking if it is possible to change the gain settings of the amp.

The system has two 2 way 12" drivers on 8 Ohms.

2)
Would it be better with another amp? i also have a amp 9.

Did you read the AI section which discussed gain settings?
I believe the AMP6 comes with high gain settings for small portable MP3 players like the iPod.
I must change the input and feedback resistors to lower the gain. This should resolve this problem.
